HOWURYHUUUU!!!???
It’s been quite a while since I posted anything on this space, but I’m here again. Permit me to drop some of my thoughts on your screen.
In my little time as a pastor, one of the most important things — I’ve found — that the believer must know, is how to get back on their feet fast.
It is certain that the righteous man will fall a few times. Either for sin, or from certain standards of devotional excellence. But we also know that the only thing worse than falling, is staying where you fell.
However, it is easier said than done. But there are things to know about restoration that will facilitate easy restoration, and even reduce the frequency of falling.
Some of the things you must know include;
The Mercy of God
One of the things the enemy hopes you don’t know, is how merciful God is.
God wants to see you back on your feet, and He can make your guilt go away, just come to Him, and don’t run from Him.
The Power of Sincere Prayers
The mistake many believers make when they fall, is that they are not sincere, and they try to fake it before the Lord.
If you’ve fallen or you’re struggling to maintain devotional excellence — what I mean by devotional excellence is consistency in your spiritual disciplines — talk to God about it, and be honest. Then you can find help.
The fact that “Your Feelings don’t always have to lead”
Sometimes you need to pray till your feelings catch up. Many times you may not feel forgiven and restored, but if you’ve asked the Lord for forgiveness and repented genuinely, trust His word, and His love for you enough to declare that you are accepted and loved by God.
The Power of Long times of Prayer, Study and Fasting
Special seasons of devotion can be really good ‘restoration hacks’ because if you spend time in God’s presence, you condition yourself to be close, and ultimately feel close to Him. This is exactly what you need.
The Implication of Staying Down.
Finally, you must understand that
Staying where you fell, is a bigger defect than falling. The only believer that has been defeated, is the one who chooses to stay down.
As long as you’re willing to stand up and keep going, the devil CANNOT win.
Be encouraged! Get up, and get up fast! Pick up your sword and get back in the fight! We need you!
